OmniBio Chief Scientific Officer Co-Authors Paper on AAT Research

Dr. Charles Dinarello, Chief Scientific Officer of Omni Bio, is a co-author of an article that is now available in the journal Blood, which is the premier journal of the American Society of Hematology (ASH). The paper describes the use of Alpha‑1 antitrypsin (AAT) to treat mice with a lethal form of rejection of bone marrow transplantation. Mice survive the crisis with AAT treatment. The paper clearly proposes that because of the long-term safety of AAT clinical trials in humans could be started. Omni Bio has a patent pending for the use of AAT to treat bone marrow transplantation dating. Omni Bio announced in February 2011 that it had letters of intent to use AAT for transplantation. Omni Bio is currently negotiating with medical centers in the U.S. and Europe to begin clinical trials.
